The Olympiastadion is a sports stadium in Berlin, Germany. It was originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics. During the Olympics, the record attendance was thought to be over 100,000. Since renovations in 2004, the Olympiastadion has a permanent capacity of 74,475 seats and is the largest stadium in Germany for international football matches. Since 1963, it has been the home ground of the Hertha BSC football team.
Das Olympiastadion Berlin befindet sich im Ortsteil Westend im Bezirk Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf von Berlin. Es ist Teil des Olympiageländes (ehemals: Reichssportfeld) und wurde 1934–1936 für die Olympischen Sommerspiele 1936 mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 100.000 Zuschauern errichtet, als Ersatz für das zuvor dort befindliche Deutsche Stadion. Heute ist das Olympiastadion die Heimspielstätte des Fußball-Bundesligisten Hertha BSC, der auch Hauptnutzer des Stadions ist.
