Veliko Tarnovo is a city in north central Bulgaria and the administrative centre of Veliko Tarnjovo Province. Often referred to as the “City of the Tsars“, Veliko Tarnovo is located on the Yantra River and is famously known as the historical capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire, attracting many tourists with its unique architecture.
Veliko Tarnovo ist eine Stadt in Bulgarien mit etwa 73.000 Einwohnern. Sie ist Verwaltungssitz der gleichnamigen Oblast(Bezirk) sowie der Gemeinde Viliko Tarnowo. Das Oberzentrum liegt im nördlichen Teil des Balkangebirges an der Jantra. Weliko Tarnowo war Hauptstadt des Zweiten Bulgarischen Reiches.
