Picture was taken at area of Melnik sandstone pyramids. They are located northeast of the bulgarian town of Melnik, in the southwestern foothills of the Pirin Mountain. They are rock formations, some with height of 100 meters, with sand, almost vertical slopes.

Hierbei handelt es sich um stark ausgewaschene Erdpyramiden, bis zu 100m hoch aufragende Sandsteinpfeiler, aus einem Sand-Lehm-Gemisch an den südwestlichen Ausläufern des Piringebirges, in der unmittelbaren Umgebung der sehr kleinen bulgarischen Stadt Melnik.
